Beyond the Basics Health Academy welcomes Cass McLaughlin to the show. Cass works at Hennepin Healthcare as a program coordinator for Integrative Health Lifestyle-Based Group Medical Visits and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in both the Department of Internal Medicine as well as Family and Community Health at Whittier Clinic. Cass has also co-authored the book, The Whittier Way Lifestyle-Based Group Visits with Kara Parker, MD.
Cass McLaughlin has been practicing meditation for 30 years and has been helping others through a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program since 2004. She has also participated in two meditation research studies and trained in Trauma Sensitive Medicine.
Cass comes on the show to talk about the power of mindfulness and even leads us through a meditation. She discusses the importance of using meditation to help to reconnect the body and the vital aspect of breath work.
